Sushil Kumar has created history by becoming the first Indian wrestler to win a gold medal at the World Championships in Moscow. Sushil was only the second Indian to win an Olympic medal when he grabbed a bronze at Beijing Games in 2008.Sushil Kumar overcame Russia's Gogaev Alan 3-1 in the final to clinch the gold yesterday. He had defeated Azerbaijan's Hasanov Jabrayil in the semifinal of the free style 66kg category event.All other Indian contenders had crashed out before the final in the championship. The Prime Minister has congratulated Sushil Kumar on his winning a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Moscow . Dr Manmoham Singh said that Sushil Kumar who has shown spirit of determination and skill in his craft. has done the country proud. The Prime Minister said Sushil Kumar is a role model for the youth.
