The Rajya Sabha Select Committee on Surrogacy Bill has recommended that surrogate motherhood should not be restricted to close relatives alone. It should be allwoed   to any willing woman. <br />''<br />''This is among the many changes recommended by the Select Committee to the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 pending before Rajya Sabha. Chairman of the 23 Member Committee Bhupender Yadav presented the report in Rajya Sabha today.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The other major changes recommended by the Committee include  allowing single woman be it a widow or a divorcee and Persons of Indian Origin  should also be allowed to avail surrogacy. <br />''<br />''The Committee has also recommanded  removal of  requirement of five years as the period of inability to conceive before opting for surrogacy and increasing the insurance cover for the surrogate mother from 16 months proposed in the Bill to 36 months.</span><br />
