Surgical strikes carried out by India in Myanmar and PoK proved India's hard power: Parrikar

Former defence minister Manohar Parrikar has said that the surgical strikes carried out by India in Myanmar and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir proved India's hard power.<br/>'<br/>Goa chief minister Mr Parrikar was speaking at the launch of a book 'Securing India the Modi Way' by strategic analyst Nitin Gokhale at the International Centre in Goa Art and Literature Festival 2017 this evening. <br/><br/>Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic vision, Parrikar said, the external affairs ministry is the front end, while the defence ministry is the back end for any successful nation.<br/><br/>Speaking on the Rafale fighter aircraft deal, Parrikar said, the PM and the defence ministry worked very intensely on the project and fast-tracked it after the Congress government had wasted time on the deal.<br/><br/>According to Parrikar, the fighter aircraft would provide the Indian Air Force teeth to take on hostile forces. He said, it is a very modern fighter with huge technological capabilities.
