Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu will present the Railway Budget in Parliament today for 2016-17. Expectations are running high with people rooting for introduction of new trains, and improvement in passenger amenities. Passenger fares had not been hiked in the last Railway budget. <br/><br/>The Railway Minister faces a stiff dilemma on whether to raise fares and freight rates as railway finances have come under tremendous strain. <br/><br/>Railways have earned over 136,079 crore rupees as against the target of 141,416 crore rupees during April-January period, a decline of 3.77 per cent. We spoke to the general public from different walks of life on their expectations from the Rail Budget.
