Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu today launched key freight sector initiatives in New Delhi. These include Policy of Long Term Contracts with <br/>major customers, Freight and Passenger Business Action Plan -2017-18, and <br/>confirmation trial of Double stack Dwarf Container Train. <br/><br/>The demonstration run of Ro-Ro (Roll on – Roll off) service across the National Capital Region was also launched today. It is a pilot project for Green <br/>Transportation to reduce road congestion and improve environment.<br/>Speaking on the occasion, the Rail Minister said everybody will be a winner with the improvement in freight loading.<br/><br/>He said of late, his Ministry has <br/>taken various initiatives in the field of Non Fare revenue and in saving <br/>fuel cost. He said, the target of 41,000 crore rupees savings has been <br/>fixed in the next 10 years on energy front.
