Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has asked Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalithaa to come forward to have joint venture railway projects.He launched the free hi-speed wi-fi service in the Chennai Central railway station and inaugurated the indigenous medical facilities in the reputed Railway Hospital at Perambur in the city.Mr Prabhu also dedicated for public service the fourth railway line between Tiruvalllur and Tiruvalankadu and unveiled a host of other facilities in various stations across the state through video conferencing from the Chennai Central station.Later, Mr Prabhu in his address said the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telengana and Kerala are joining hands with the Railways for various rail projects by way of signing agreements and states like Tamil Nadu should also come forward to implement joint projects.The Railway Ministry lays emphasis on implementing various new development projects as joint ventures with the respective state governments by way of sharing finances but Tamil Nadu maintains that certain features related to the equity structure of the joint venture agreements are unbalanced.Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon.Radhakrishnan and many others participated in the event.
