In Gujarat, the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge of Surat, Geetaben Gopi today rejected the regular bail plea of Patidar leader Hardik Patel in the sedition case. The sedition case was lodged by the crime branch in Amroli police station in October last year for his instigating suggestion to a supporter to kill policemen rather than committing suicide. While rejecting the bail plea, the court in its order also observed that the behaviour of Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti leader Hardik Patel in jail is not good.

The Crime Branch of Surat police had filed a 370 page charge-sheet in the case on 8th January. Hardik is lodged in Lajpore central jail of Sura. This is the second jolt to Hardik this month as Ahmedabad court had also rejected his bail in another sedition case on 8th March. Hardik's counsel said that the Surat court order will also be challenged in the High Court.
