Surat cleanest railway stations in India

Surat Railway Station in Gujrat is at number one in premilenary survey of cleaniness ranking order of top ten major railway stations in the country. Rajkot, Bilaspur, Solapur, Mumbai Central and Chandigarh are other stations in the list of the report, which was released by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in New Delhi today.<br/><br/> The assessment is based on the survey, conducted through interviews with passengers on cleanliness indicators at 75 A1 category and 332 A category stations across 16 railways Zones. Additionally, feedback from the non-railway survey providers at stations and Railway officials who are part of the Service Improvement Group at stations were also captured in the survey. <br/><br/>Railway Minister in his Rail Budget speech this year had announced series of measures to improve the cleanliness on stations to take forward the momentum of Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat. One of the measures given in the Budget is ranking of A1 and A category stations based on regular periodic third party audit and feedback from passengers.
