The Supreme Court has asked CBI not to take any final decision in any Coal scam related cases after serious allegations were levelled against its Director Ranjit Sinha for protecting some accused.
A bench comprising Chief Justice RM Lodha and Justices Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph, also sought Centre's response through Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi on the allegations levelled against the CBI Director. The apex court also asked the Centre to file assessment report of IT Department on controversial meat exporter Moin Qureshi who has come under scrutiny for violation of tax laws.
Qureshi allegedly met the CBI Director at his official residence multiple times. The bench posted the matter for further hearing on October 17.
