Support to Training & Employment Programme for Women aims to provide skill for self employed: Govt

Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said, under the Support to Training and Employment Programme for women, government aims to provide competencies and skill that enable women to become self employed. Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, Mr Rudy said under the scheme, over 15,000 women have been provided training.<br/><br/>The Minister said, the flagship programme of Ministry namely Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is for all sections of the society including women. Mr Rudy informed the House that under PMKVY 2015-16, out of 19.8 lakh candidates, about 8.64 lakhs were trained, approximately 44 per cent were women.
