The UP Police has arrested senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi during the agitation in support of farmers of Greater Noida in Ghaziabad.The BJP leaders were arrested on charge of breach of peace under section 151 CrPC. Rajnath Singh had started 24 hours’ fast on Thursday to protest against alleged atrocities on farmers. Several Congress leaders including UPCC chief Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi were also arrested across the state during the protests. The Congress had called for UP bandh today. The Congress and BJP have demanded judicial inquiry into the incident of police atrocities in Bhatta Parsaul on Saturday last. Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait along with 100 workers was arrested near Ganga Nagar barrier while he was on his way to Bhatta Parsaul.
