Support for Palestine reference point of foreign policy: Sushma Swaraj

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said India's support for the Palestinian cause has been a reference point of its foreign policy. <br/><br/>In her intervention in the Non- Aligned Movement-NAM Ministerial meeting on Palestine in New York, Mrs Swaraj yesterday said, India's commitment and its solidarity with the Palestinian people can never be undermined. <br/><br/>The External Affairs Minister said India's expanding relations in the region with all nations will only strengthen the Palestinian cause. <br/><br/>Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Israel in July this year to mark 25 years of diplomatic relations, she said, both sides had reiterated the need for a just and durable peace in the region. <br/><br/>Mrs. Swaraj said, the path to this clearly lies in an early negotiated solution between Israel and Palestine based on mutual recognition and security arrangements. <br/><br/>She said, during the official visit of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to India, various agreements for cooperation in the fields including agriculture, information technology and health were signed.
