A news survey in Japan says support for Prime Minister Naoto Kan's cabinet has plummeted sharply since he reshuffled his government. A recent poll conducted by the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper said public support for Kan's government fell to 53 percent, down 13 points from the previous month. Meanwhile a separate survey by the Mainichi Shimbun said Kan's approval rating had slumped to 49 percent down 15 points from its previous poll.
