Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba will assume the charge of Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee with effect from afternoon of Saturday. He received the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) baton from the outgoing Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha at a ceremony in South Block, New Delhi today. <br/><br/>The Chief of Army Staff Gen Dalbir Singh, who also retires from service on Saturday and Principal Staff Officers of all three Services and Head Quarters Integrated Defence Staff were present on the occasion. <br/><br/>Admiral Lanba assumed command of the Indian Navy on 31st of May this year. He is a Navigation and Direction specialist and has served onboard numerous ships in both the Eastern and Western Fleets. During his versatile and distinguished career, he has commanded Frigates, Destroyers and was the Executive Officer of the aircraft carrier, Viraat.
