The Delhi government has extended the summer vacation of city schools by one more week in view of the prevailing heat wave in the national capital. All government schools and majority of private schools were scheduled to reopen tomorrow but now they will reopen on July 9. This was announced by Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely in a press conference yesterday. The vacations had started on May 12. The adjoining Guatam Budha Nagar District Collector in Uttar Pradesh has also asked all schools including private schools to extend their summer vacations by a week for students up to class five in view of the prevailing heat wave.
