Sumitra Mahajan launches Energy Conservation Building Code for Residential Building

<span style="color: #222222;">Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has said sustainable development and conservation of resources are practised by India for many thousand years. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She said energy conservation and the use of clean energy resources are the priority areas for the government as well as the people of the country. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Ms Mahajan was addressing the National Energy Conservation Awards function in New Delhi today. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking on the occasion, Power Minister R.K. Singh said the electricity sector has seen a significant transformation in the last 4.5 years and the country has been united into one grid. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said each village in the country has been electrified and now the government is focusing on providing electricity to every household. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said the target of electrifying every household will be achieved much before the deadline of 31st March 2019.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">During the function, the Lok Sabha Speaker launched the Energy Conservation Building Code for Residential Building ( ECBC-R) to push for energy efficiency in the residential sector. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Ms Mahajan presented awards to 26 industrial units from various sectors for their excellent performance in energy efficiency. </span>
