The election for the speaker of the Lok Sabha will take place tomorrow. Talking to reporters , Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the process of filing of nomination forms has already begun from this afternoon. Mr. Naidu said Sumitra Mahajan is a formidable candidate for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Sumitra Mahajan today filed her nomination papers for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. Minister of state for parliamentary affairs Santosh Gangwar said that her name has been proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders from 19 different political parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party, AIADMK, BJD and all NDA allies. AIR correspondent reports that she is all set to be elected unopposed for the post. Mrs. Mahajan is an eight time MP from Indore of Madhya Pradesh.
