Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey: India lose its 2nd consecutive match

India lost their second consecutive match in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey tournament as they went down 1-2 against South Korea at Ipoh today. India had lost 3-4 to Australia in their match, yesterday.A defensive lapse late in the game cost India dearly as the Korean scored the winning goal in the 60th minute. Indians were outplayed in the first half by the Koreans who led 1-0 through a 29th minute goal from Kang Moon Kweon.India found the equaliser in the 39th minute with Malak Singh finding the target. However, Kweon scored his second goal of the match 10 minutes before the hooter via a deflection off a long hit from outside the 25 yards to dash the Indian hopes.After this loss, the Indians will find it difficult to qualify for the final in the six-team tournament. Two top teams from the round-robin league will play in the final.In another match Australia brightened their chances of making to the final of the tournament after crushing Pakistan 6-0 today. This is their second consecutive win in the tournament. Australia proved too hot for Pakistan to handle as the world champions scored four goals in the first half and converted two penalty corners in the second half.
