India lost to Australia 4-Nil in the final of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament at Ipoh in Malaysia today.A brace each from Tom Craig, and Matthew Gohdes sealed India's fate in the match which was otherwise a keen contest.Both the teams failed to capitalize on penalty corner chances.India stormed into the final yesterday evening beating Malaysia 6-1.In a must-win last round-robin league fixture, India stamped their authority on the hosts to finish ahead of New Zealand in the standings.Meanwhile, defending champions New Zealand today defeated hosts Malaysia 5-4 in shoot out for the Bronze medal. The keenly contested match ended 3-3 in regulation time before the fate was decided in shoot out. In an earlier match, Pakistan defeated Canada 3-1 for the fifth position.Australia have won this title a record nine times and India claimed the honours five times.
