Sukhoi aircraft has been inducted in the Indian Air Force and light combat aircraft, LCA will be inducted soon. This information was given by the Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony while replying questions in the Rajya Sabha today. He said another modern aircraft is being acquired for the Air Force. The Minister dismissed the reports that the spare parts supplied by the private sector for the aircrafts are not of good quality. He however acknowledged that there was a delay in their supply as after the break up of Soviet Union. The Minister said that the supply of spare parts has now started improving. He informed the House that 12 air accidents took place in the last year in which five Pilots and 11 Servicemen lost their lives besides four civilians. Mr. Antony said no Pilot or service personnel has lost his life in one IAF accident this year.
