The Supreme Court on Monday granted interim bail to former Union Minister Sukh Ram, till January 16th, in the 1993 Telecom Scam case.

The bench headed by Justice P Sathasivam also granted bail to former bureaucrat Runu Ghosh and businessman P Rama Rao, the co-accused in the case.

On January 5th, the bench had rejected their appeal against the Delhi High Court's order, convicting them in the scam.

Earlier on December 21st last year, the High Court had upheld the lower court's 2002 judgement, holding the three guilty.

While Sukhram and Rama Rao were awarded a jail term of three years, Runu Ghosh was sentenced a two year imprisonment.
