Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has informed that suitable measures are initiated to prepare Bengaluru for the monsoon rains. Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Wednesday after a meeting with the officials, Girinath informed that CCTV, street lights and water measuring meter gauge will be installed across the city. These will prevent any untoward incidents as was reported in the K R Circle underpass recently, leading to the death of one woman. He explained that there are 53 underpasses in the city and civic works are initiated in 41 underpasses to prevent water logging. He pointed out that 198 spots with acute problems of water logging are identified in the city. Out of which, 118 spots are rectified with permanent solutions and temporary solutions were initiated in 80 spots. He said pumps are ready to pump out rainwater and the forest department team is ready with equipment to remove fallen trees.
