In Afghanistan at least ten Afghan policemen and one child were killed in a suicide car bomb explosion in Helmand police headquarters this morning. A local official said a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives in front of heavily-guarded police headquarter in Lashkar Gah. Seven other policemen and two Afghan civilians were injured in the attack. Officials said, that the blast occurred as a police vehicle entered the compound.Lashkar Gah is one of the seven areas that Afghan security forces have recently taken over from foreign forces. The Afghan Interior Ministry has strongly condemned the attack and said such attacks will never weaken the determination of Afghan National Police. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
