Suicide bomber kills six in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, at least six people including a police official were killed today when a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle detonated his explosives in southwestern town of Farah. The provincial police chief said at least 36 more people have been injured, some of them seriously. The incident comes only a day after ten civilians including two children were killed and 13 others wounded in a suicide bombing near a police station in southern province of Uruzgan yesterday.Violence is on the rise as Afghan President Mr. Hamid Karzai, sworn in for his second term yesterday, said Afghan forces will take over the country’s security in next five years. Mr. Karzai has also promised for a Loya Jirga to bring back the disaffected groups, who have resorted to violence, in the national mainstream.
