In Afghanistan, a suicide bomber has hit the southern city of Kandahar. Authorities said the attack occurred near Kandahar's customs office. It was not immediately clear if there were any casualties. Elsewhere in Afghanistan, NATO said a child was accidentally killed yesterday in an operation in southern Helmand province. The international alliance said its service members discovered the child in a compound near a targeted insurgent area, and called the incident a deeply regrettable accident.
