In Afghanistan, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near an army recruitment centre in the west of Kabul city today morning. It was not immediately clear about the number of casualties or the target of the attack. Abdul Ghafor Sayedzada, chief of criminal investigation for the Kabul police, said that initial reports of the blast indicate that U.S. vehicles were targeted. But the area of the explosion is home to Afghan government buildings. Taliban-led groups have often carried out suicide attacks in capital Kabul. Today’s attack is the first major one after a similar attack on February 26 which killed 17 people including 7 Indian nationals.
