Prime Minister Narendra Modi today exhorted Central government Secretaries to come up with ideas for transformative change in areas including good governance, employment generation, education, health, farmer-centric initiatives, Swachh Bharat and energy efficiency. He also emphasized that in each of these areas, the focus should be on measures which will qualitatively improve the lives of people. In a hour long interaction with Secretaries in New Delhi, Mr. Modi stressed on people's participation in governance and empowerment of the common man. <br/><br/>Appreciating the work done by them over the last one and half year, the Prime Minister said their vast expertise in various domains of the governance, should now be leveraged to bring about breakthroughs, rather than incremental change. <br/><br/>In the next two weeks, the Secretaries will interact among themselves in sub-groups after which they will present their ideas and suggestions to the Prime Minister. <br/><br/>Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari were also present on the occasion.
