Sufi Festival in J&K: Dept of Tourism organises musical evening in Srinagar

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as a part of the ongoing three-day Sufi Festival, the Department of Tourism, organised Musical Evening in Srinagar to celebrate the rich musical and Sufi heritage.<br />''<br />''The Musical Evening was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta; Vice Chairperson of J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Kashmir Divisional Commissioner , Pandurang Pole; Tourism Secretary Sarmad Hafeez, Director Tourism  Dr. G.N. Itoo, senior officers of Divisional Administration and Tourism Department and other allied departments besides a number of tourists and locals also attended the event.<br />''<br />''The renowned artists of Kashmir sang beautiful songs having mystic importance as well as depicting teachings of Sufis and Rishis of Kashmir. A painting competition on the Sufi traditions was also held at Zabarwan Park, Srinagar in which the participants through their paintings depicted rich Sufi heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.<br />''<br />''The Sufi Festival was inaugurated by Adviser to Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar yesterday with an aim to highlight and propagate the teachings of Sufis and Rishis in Kashmir.<br />
