India take on 10 time Champions China in the quarter final of the Sudirman Cup mixed team badminton championship in Gold Coast, Australia, tomorrow. Japan will face Malaysia in the other quarter-final. India completed their league stage yesterday, finishing second, but qualified for the knock-out spot, riding on their match score, that is the number of matches won and lost in the league. This is only the second time that India managed to reach the knockout stage, following their quarterfinal loss at the 2011 edition against China. The prestigious tournament will not figure Indonesia in the last eight for the first time in its 28-year history.
