An IPS officer of Delhi Police Sudhir Yadav has been appointed as new Director General (DG) of Tihar. Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has issued order in this regard. Earlier, Mr Yadav served as Special Commissioner (Provisions and Logistics) of Delhi Police.<br/><br/>Last month, Delhi government had appointed J K Sharma as new DG of Tihar, but the order was nullified as the government had not sought prior approval of Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung before the appointment. A day after taking charge, Mr Sharma had stepped down as Tihar DG contending that the government did not seek prior approval from the Lt Governor Jung for his appointment.
