Sudha Pillai and IAS Officer of 1972 batch, Kerala cadre, today took oath as the Member Secretary of the Planning Commission. She was administered the oath of office of secrecy by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh who is also the Chairman of the plan panel. <br/><br/>Mrs. Pillai has been awarded the rank of the State Minister. She was working as Secretary of the Commission earlier. <br/><br/>A Harvard University scholar, she, also served as Labour Secretary. Mrs. Pillai has also served at the Centre in the Ministries of Industry and Corporate Affairs, Panchayati Raj and Mines. She is married to Union Home Secretary Mr. G.K. Pillai.
