Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said his Ministry took a number of measures to make foodgrain management more efficient and ensure food security in the country. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi on the achievements of his Ministry in the last three years, Mr Paswan said automation of Fair Price Shops is being done to reform Public Distribution System and reduce leakage. He cited Aadhar seeding in PDS and deletion of ration cards as the other important reform measures. <br/><br/>At present, over two lakh Fair Price shops have PoS machines. The Minister said about 17.99 crore ration cards have been seeded with Aadhar to weed out duplicate, ineligible and bogus ration cards. <br/><br/>He added that Depot Online System has been rolled out in depots of FCI. He further informed that Pension Scheme and Post Retirement Medical Scheme has been implemented in FCI. <br/><br/>Mr Paswan also said, with the implementation of National Food Security Act in all states, 80 crore people will be benefited. He said he expected Consumer Protection Bill, 2015 to be passed in next session of Parliament.<br/><br/>On the occasion, he also released a booklet on key initiatives undertaken by the Ministry. <br/><br/>
