Success and values must go hand-in-hand, says RSS chief

R?ashtriya ?S?wayamsevak ?S?angh Chief ?Mohan Bhagwat ?has said that individuals who have achieved success and also preserved their values were role models for society. He said that if success and values go hand-in-hand, it is a form of patriotism.

Excel?ling? in your field and ?remaining sincere to yourself is like service to the nation. Mr. Bhagwat was speaking ?after release of a book? ?, "An Amazing Grace", based on the life and times of noted urologist late ?Dr. ?Ajit Phadke? at a special function ?held in Mumbai yesterday.

Quoting legendary scientist Albert Einstein, who had said, "Try in your life not to be man of success but man of value", the RSS ?Chief stated that one needs a balance of both virtues. We can be just successful without values or be unsuccessful with values. People who achieve success without compromising ethics emerge as role models for society, he maintained.

?Dr. Bhagwat said ?that ??Dr. Phadke, a medical practitioner with RSS roots, was instrumental in grooming several surgeons and urologists. He said that ?Dr. Phadke was a team leader and a people's man. In an organisation, if someone else does better than you, there is no ill-feeling. This is unlike in politics.
