Distressed over leak of final report on illegal mining to the media, Karnataka Lokayuktha Justice Santosh Hedge said his report gives voluminous evidence on involvement of Chief Minister and some of his cabinet ministers apart from others in the Opposition parties in illegal mining in the state. Speaking to the media persons in Bangalore yesterday Justice Hegde said he will submit the full report before his tenure ends on August 2. Expressing concern over his phone being tapped, the Lokayuktha defended his staff as not responsible for the leak of the report to the media. The Lokayukta has probed the issue of illegal mining in the State for the last 10 years – 2000 to 2010. After the report was leaked stating that Chief Minister is responsible for not stopping illegal mining, the Opposition has demanded for his resignation.
