Supreme Court today said that Sahara chief Subrata Roy and two of its directors will remain in Delhi Police custody till next hearing tomorrow. Subrata Roy today appeared in the apex court in a contempt case arising out of non refund of 20,000 crore rupees to investors.
While replying to the court, The Sahara chief assured the it that its order will be followed by him and sought more time for refunding money to investors. The court said that it was not happy with the proposal of Sahara on refund of money. It said, they have not come up with concrete proposal and bank guarantee.
The apex court told Roy that he can't make payment in cash as it is contrary to law. It asked him to make payment through demand draft or cheque. Earlier, a protester threw ink on Sahara Group chairman Subrata Roy as he reached the Supreme Court today.
