<span style="color: #222222;">Lok Sabha speaker Mr Om Birla said, study visits by over 200 parliament members would help in planning the developmental activities for Ladakh. After inaugurating the outreach and familiarization programme for panchayati raj institutions of UT Ladakh, Mr Om Birla spoke to the media.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Birla said thirteen parliamentary committees of different departments have visited Union Territory Ladakh to study various possibilities in the region for development. He said, the study reports of parliamentary committees will be discussed to derive best possible plans for Ladakh.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, three tier democratic institutions are established in newly created Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu &amp; Kashmir. Referring to the concerns expressed by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils and public representatives of Panchayats and Block Development Councils, Mr. Om Birla said, each elected democratic institution should have rules as per the requirements and abide by it. However, he said certain overlapping could be resolved amicably with a positive dialogue.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Om Birla suggested elected institutions should share best practices, procedures to speed up the developmental activities. He appealed to Panchayat level democratic units to strive for socio economic development at village level. He also said, public representatives should be ideal and reflect values to inspire the public to participate in the processes of elected democratic institutions.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier Mr. Om Birla interacted with delegations of various elected public representations of Leh and Kargil districts.
