The study of certain glaciers has shown that the mean loss in their aerial extent is around over five per cent. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's office Mr. Prithviraj Chavan said that analysis of data of last ten years has shown increasing trend of aerosol and carbon dioxide concentration in atmosphere and decreasing trend of black carbon. He said that Indian Space Research Organisation, ISRO, has been carrying out observations over Indian region on certain variables regarding climate change. He added, ISRO proposes to have study the impact of climate change. For this, it is developing newer satellite sensor besides acquisition and archival of satellite and ground based data and their analysis and modeling. <br/>
