Students of Film & Television Institute at Pune call off strike

Students of Film and Television Institute at Pune today called off their 139 days old strike. Student leaders announced at a press conference today that though they are returning to the classes with immediate effect, they will continue to protest against current appointments. They also ruled out any "proactive engagement" with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry until the issues get resolved.<br/><br/>Students were on strike from 12th June against appointment of TV Actor Gajendra Chauhan as Chairman of Governing Council of FTII. They were also against the appointments of 4 members of Governing Council having link with RSS.
