Student Protests turn violent in Allahabad

Student Protests of a private engineering college in Allahabad become violent today demanding for compensation and action against the college administration over yesterday's death of a college student. The angry students gathered in the college in the Naini area of Allahabad and burned some cars stationed on the premises. Later they jammed traffic movements and pelted stones on buses and other vehicles. Police force including Rapid Action force used mild lathi charge to control the situation. The DIG police of Allahabad told AIR that the situation is under control now and no arrest has been done so far. According to reports the engineering student was ill for some time and he died yesterday in a local hospital. The students alleged that due to negligent approach of college authorities the student lost his life.
