Student commits suicide at Osmania University

Student commits suicide in Osmania University In Andhra Pradesh, tension prevailed on the Osmania University campus in Hyderabad, following the suicide of an engineering student. Police said the student was rushed to hospital but was declared dead. <br/><br/>Our correspondent says security arrangements have been tightened on the campus after the police prevented the students from taking out a rally with the body.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent M.S. Lakshmi reports from Hyderabad that a second year B Tech student, Sai Kumar, belonging to the Osmania Engineering College, hanged himself in his hostel room in Hyderabad this morning. His friends rushed him to Gandhi hospital where he was declared dead. <br/><br/>According to police, the student belonged to nearby Nalgonda district. A suicide note was found, purportedly written by the student, claiming that he was taking the extreme step for the cause of four crore Telangana people.<br/><br/>A large number of students gathered near the Gandhi hospital where the body of Sai Kumar was kept for some time. Agitated at the death, students boycotted their classes and gheroeved the Vice Chancellor, who went to pay his respects to the deceased student.<br/>
