A large and very strong typhoon is moving northeast over Shizuoka Prefecture in central Japan, after making landfall on the country's Pacific Coast. <br/><br/>It is bringing heavy rain and stormy winds over wide areas. The MeT agency said, Typhoon Lan made landfall near Omaezaki today and was moving north-northeast over an area near Numazu. The typhoon is packing winds of up to 144 kilometers per hour. <br/><br/>The typhoon is bringing heavy rain mainly to the Tokai, Kanto-Koshin, Hokuriku and Tohoku regions. Weather officials are warning of mudslides, swollen rivers, violent winds and high waves. <br/><br/>Some transportation services have been disrupted and could face further cancellations. 50 municipalities have issued evacuation orders, while 182 municipalities issued evacuation advisories.
