Strong earthquake strikes off Peru

In Peru, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck today. The US Geological Survey said, the quake occurred about 220 kilometers west of Arequipa, Peru's second most populous city. <br/><br/>Arequipa region's President Yamila Osorio said on Twitter that authorities are monitoring the situation. There is no immediate reports of injuries or damage. Peru lies on the "Ring of Fire", an arc of fault lines that circles the Pacific Basin and is prone to frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
