A strong earthquake hit the eastern Mediterranean today. Tremors have been felt in Egypt, Turkey and Greece. The quake was of the magnitude of six on richter scale. The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 58 kilometers, some 127 kilometers northeast of Karpathos.
