Strike hits normal life in Manipur

In Manipur, normal life was badly affected on Saturday because of the general strike called by the Coordination Committee of seven militant outfits of the state.The strike called by the Coordination Committee of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK(Pro), RPF, UNLF and UPPK started from midnight last night and ended at 5.30 this evening. The protest was against the signing of Manipur Merger Agreement on October 15, 1949.In the state capital Imphal, no passenger vehicles were plying due to the strike. Educational institutions and all business establishments including shops and markets were also remained closed for the day. However, there is no report of any untoward incident so far.
