A 30-day strike called by employees of ordnance factories was withdrawn today following an assurance by the government that a panel would be formed to look into their concerns. <br />'' <br />'' The employees will join their duties from Monday. They had gone on a strike from 20th of this month against the government's plan to corporatise ordnance factories as private sector entities.<br />'' <br />'' The strike was called off following talks between representatives of various employees' federations and senior officials of the Defence Production Department.<br />'' <br />'' The Centre had proposed to convert ordnance factories into public sector units to boost production, increase profitability, bring about competitiveness and generate more jobs in the sector.<br />''
