A new bill to make the transmission of the electricity more efficient is on anvil. Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said in New Delhi today that bill will have the provision of stricter punishments for the power thieves in the proposed bill. He also said that share of private sector will be increased in the power generation to make the country sustainable in this sector. The Minister said that all the historical and tourist places in the country will be connected through underground transmission to curb the power mischieves. Reitrating the government's target of complete electrification of the country, Mr Shinde said that over ninety six thousand villages of the country have already been electrified and rest will be joined by next year.
