Strengthening security top priority: R R Patil

Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil said, strengthening security to avert 26/11 type terror attacks will be the top priority of the Government. Talking to reporters in Mumbai, he said, beefing up the security apparatus and improving coordination among concerned agencies will top his agenda. Mr Patil, who has made a comeback to the Home department a year after the attacks said, coastal security is already being strengthened. He said, the first batch of Force One commandos, the elite force formed on the lines of National Security Guards is ready and will be operational soon. The Minister said, the Government will also speed up modernisation of police force and strengthen intelligence machinery. The senior NCP leader had resigned after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, and was made party's state unit chief.<br/>
