Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) KV Chowdary has stressed the need for strengthening the whistle-blower mechanism in state-owned entities to prevent corruption and irregularities. <br/><br/>He said though the Vigilance Officers are alert and efficient, the internal vigil blower mechanism offer good inputs often about prevalence of corruption. <br/><br/>Mr Chowdary was addressing Chief Vigilance Officers at the 14th anniversary celebrations of the Vigilance Study Circle in Hyderabad yesterday evening. He further said the Vigilance manual has been upgraded after 12 years and it will be officially released in a month or so as the manual is under printing at present. <br/><br/>He said, the comments from the Chief Vigilance Officers have already been obtained as several changes incorporated in view of technological upgradation. <br/><br/>Mr Chowdary also said ensuring conviction in vigilance cases is also important to prevent corruption in government entities.
