A stream of visitors continued to throng the 30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2016 at Surajkund in district Faridabad today. The Mela is showcasing arts and crafts of various countries from across the globe reflecting varied cultures and traditions of the world. <br/><br/>Some of the most exquisite handlooms with intricate designs and bewitching colours and unique dress materials like kalamkari of Andhra Pradesh, Gadwal saris from Telangana have become popular among visitors. Kalamkari – an art of hand painting that has been displayed on cotton and silk saris and dupattas.<br/><br/>The other attraction of the Mela is intricately-carved replicas of Hindu temples located in Nepal displayed by Artisan Mr. Nir Bahadur Joshi. Besides all this, an awareness programme called 'Pledge for my city pride' is also being run in the Mela by ' Expeditions for Cause' (EFC), Haryana Tourism and the Surajkund Mela Authority jointly. Under this programme, the volunteers of the organisation offer visitors to sign a form to take a pledge for betterment of their city.
