Stray incidents of violence have been reported from West Bengal and Jharkhand on the first day of 48-hours bandh called by the Maoists. The bandh has been called in Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and three districts of Maharashtra to protest against the Operation Green Hunt launched against them.<br/><br/>In West Bengal, Maoists triggered a blast on a stretch of land along the railway track between Midnapore and Godapia Sal stations in West Midnapore district in the wee hours today. The tracks were not damaged in the blast, but train services were disrupted for a while.<br/><br/>In Jharkhand, Maoists have blown up a road bridge in Ghatshila sub-division of East Singhbhum district last night. Police sources said, the ultras blew up the bridge connecting Musaboni and Dumaria with a landmine.<br/><br/>In Bihar, the Railways have cancelled eight trains and diverted seven trains in view of maoist bandh.<br/><br/>In Orissa, the two-day bandh call given by Maoists has made partial impact on Maoist-hit districts of the state.
